This Father’s Day weekend, we would like to help our Dad, Tim,

who is suffering from advanced prostate cancer.

His doctor recently told him that he has about a year until the cancer,

which has already spread throughout his skeletal system, claims his life.

We, his children would like to make this upcoming year as stress free for him as possible by raising money

through this golf tournament to help with the considerable financial burdens of treating this horrible disease.

We are almost ¼ of the way through 2012, can you believe it?  Time flies so quickly these days.  My message is to share some highlights about exciting things happening.

I’m still working at my day job at Blackbaud as a Senior Financial Analyst.  My boss is great and the company’s mission falls right in line with my passion for community service.  Maddox is now 16 months old.  He’s getting so big and is often mistaken for a 2 year old at the park.  Kimo (my dog) is finally starting to get along with him and slowly allowing “petting time”.  LOL!!!  I’m loving motherhood and every single day with my little man!

Since becoming a new mommy, I’ve found that juggling a full time job, taking care of a child, grocery shopping, vacuuming, scrubbing the toilets, cooking, making time to have a little social life, and trying to plan charity events in my “spare time”, can be CHAOTIC.  I have to remind myself (after I’ve put Maddox to bed for the evening and sitting finally sitting down with dinner and a glass of wine) to take a moment and BREATHE.  When I finally have a moment to “relax”, I can’t help but be thankful for the friends and family I have, for the ability to work, and for my health.  Yes!  This is my 6^th year as a breast cancer survivor!

As you know, one of my many passions is giving back to the community.  That’s the reason why I started D-Lux Events back in 2009.  “Creating Events for Causes” has started out as a hobby and grown to being a second full time job!  But I LOVE IT!  Having been introduced to parenthood, I felt that it was time to add to what we do here at D-Lux Events…and so D-Lux KIDS was created!

I created a FREE forum for parents to buy, sell, trade/swap their kid’s clothes and toys (www.kids.d-luxevents.com ).  This is a “members only” forum and in order to join you need an access code – given to you by a member.  I decided to have it this way so that the members consisted of friends and friends of friends.  Hoping to keep it a little more exclusive and “safe”.  Check it out!  I’d love to hear your thoughts/feedback on the site!

The Live Well Project was created in 2010 from the vision of Michelle Weinstein, President of FITZEE FOODS.  She was put in touch with Meeshie Nguyen founder of D-Lux Events by a mutual friend Ray Gross.  It was at their meeting that the two women – who shared many professional goals – decided to collaborate on putting together this event.

It’s now 2011, and this will be the second year for the Live Well Project.
